Purple Pairings: Spanish Bluebells and Blossoming Chive

Martha Stewart
Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Mingle dainty Spanish bluebells with fluffy chive blossoms for textured arrangements.

  1. Gather enough stems of Spanish bluebells and blossoming chive for a dense arrangement; I like to use several dozen of each.
  2. Fill the vessel with water; add a floral preservative according to the package instructions.
  3. Working clockwise, lay the chive blossoms around the rim of the urn so that their stems overlap.
  4. To finish, tuck the bluebells among the spiraling chives, working from the center out. Keep the arrangement in a cool area, away from direct sunlight, and change the water every other day.
