Martha Asks: Summer Blooms

Orange poppy blooms.

As the warm, balmy days of summer are upon us, the garden is awash with color. Several times a week I will walk around the grounds to see what’s in bloom, what is about to bloom, and what flowers would make for a beautiful indoor arrangement. At the moment, the lilies are the stars in the garden, as they make a wonderfully fragrant and long-lasting cut flower. The brightly colored poppies have also caught my eye, as have the subtle purple hues of the hibiscus and hydrangeas, which are also great as cut flowers. What’s blooming in your garden right now?
