Introduction

Create this easy project of mums in tins for a decorative fall centerpiece that’s beautiful for your mantel or table.

Step 1

Roll out the burlap, and cut strips that measure 5 ¼ x 13 inches. Don’t worry that the burlap measures longer than the tins. You’ll need extra in case of fraying and can trim off any excess later.

Step 2

Open stencil package and find the blank stencil card to create a heart stencil. Fold the card in half and cut out a half heart along the fold for a proportional, symmetrical design.

Step 3

Pour a small amount of paint onto the paper plate, dip the stencil brush into the paint and wipe off excess onto a paper towel. Find the center of each burlap strip and hold (or tape) the stencil letters and heart onto the strips. Dab the paint onto the burlap and allow to dry.

Step 4

Lightly mist the first tin with spray adhesive. Once the spray adhesive is on the tin, quickly wrap the burlap strip around it and let dry. Trim off any excess burlap. Repeat for the rest of the tins.

Step 5

Next, go out into the garden and cut some mums, or stop by your favorite Garden Center and pick up fresh-cut mums. Place them in the tins. Add a few branches and seasonal berries for a true harvest arrangement.

Step 6

Now all you need to do is spell out fall with your tins and put them on display.
