Patriotic Entryway

Refresh your entryway or porch with red, white and blue and give it some star power for a patriotic look.

With just a handful of supplies and less than two hours, you’ll be on your way to a quick and easy makeover.

DIY Bandana Wreath

Start with your front door. Add an easy-to-make patriotic bandana wreath. All you need is a wreath form, bandanas and a star. No gluing or sewing involved. Get detailed instructions on how to make the bandana wreath.

Doesn’t this doorway just pop?

DIY Star Doormat

Add a doormat. What better way to let your guests know they’re stars. With a little spray paint and a star stencil, you can make this star doormat in no time.

Create a warm welcome. Give guests the comfort of a warm welcome with a rocking chair. For a lived-in look, put an outdoor throw pillow on the rocker in a neutral color and tie bandanas around it that coordinate with the wreath. In the above photo, we used the Hampton Bay geometric pillow in sand.

For chilly evenings, leave a red jacquard blanket with stars in reach for rocking away the hours.

Patriotic Porch with Geraniums

Bursts of color. For some entryway pizazz, add bursts of red with geraniums in tall urn planters. In this case, the planters coordinate with the entry door in black. See other ideas for patriotic flowers.

Create a vignette in your doorway with red lanterns with candles you can light at night for an ambient feel. Choose a side table as an accent on your porch or at the entryway door.

Painted stars for a patriotic doorway

Add accessories. Put the final touches on your patriotic porch. Hang up decorative accents such as stars painted in blue and white to match the look.

Dog at patriotic entryway

Now all you need is the perfect greeter at the door. Berkeley makes an adorable choice.
