Asian Poppy Arrangement How-To

  1. If you buy the poppies unopened, remove the beards when they crack open. You can also buy them preconditioned.
  2. Place a hairpin frog with floral clay in a tea cup. Fill the cup with water.
  3. Cut the poppy stems at an angle, and sear them over a flame to increase the longevity of the blossoms. Add flowers to the cup.

Sowing Oriental Poppies

Oriental poppies can self-sow and flourish in the right zone. To get them started, leave poppy pods in the garden after they bloom. As they dry, cut the tops off and shake the seeds around.
