Fall porch decor in 10 minutes or less.

Fall into the season and get your porch ready for the transition. These fast and easy ideas take just 10 minutes or less to put together.

Whether it’s a quick switch of the doormat, a place to lounge, or mums in planters, these ideas will welcome fall — and your guests.

“It’s a great time to change to a fall palette with more autumn colors: richer reds and golds to go with your greenery,” said Sarah Fishburne, director of trend and design for The Home Depot.

You can also add to your fall decor with other porch items along the way.

Start with a blank slate to decorate your porch for fall.

Start with a blank slate. Put away all things white. Then you’ll want to set up your relaxation zone. Chilling out in a chair on your porch is just the right place to unwind. Make it a conversation set and you’re ready for guests, too.

Try all-weather resin wicker chairs. Resin is durable and will last through winters and seasons to come.

Cushions come in a variety of colors, including true fall colors such as red chili and cashew burnt orange. Don’t forget throw pillows!

Fall wreath for your front door.

Make a statement with a wreath on your front door. How about a new take on a burlap wreath? Add a monogram letter, and decorative dried or faux flowers and leaves. It’s a wreath that will take your door and porch decor through Thanksgiving.

Fall porch decor: Containers

Complement your porch decor with tall containers flanking your doorway. Containers with fall plants can be a great way to express personality on your porch. Yellow mums with dried wheat grass work well, or check out these these fall container combos for inspiration.

You can also welcome guests with a new doormat for fall. It’s an easy switch.

Add pumpkins and gourds for fall.

As pumpkins and gourds ripen in your garden or arrive in the Garden Center, you can use them to punch up your porch decor beyond Halloween.

Bring the look of fall to your front porch decor.

Bales of hay bring a festive touch and lanterns finish off the harvest look.
